Scottish Canals are carrying out a study to identify opportunities to improve the towpath along the Union Canal from Lochrin Basin to the Almond Aqueduct in Edinburgh. Since we live on the east side of the city centre and the canal starts from the Lochrin Basin on the west side we walked through the centre of town via the National Museum of Scotland. Water from the canal then spread across neighbouring fields and flooded the Edinburgh to Glasgow line.
